Erika Cain is a communications vet with chops in writing, public relations, graphic design, brand strategy, TV, Radio, and educational advancement. She is a skilled storyteller and has been a trusted adviser to executives and companies for over two decades. Erika is the creator and host of Behind the Brand, a business podcast that takes you on an adventure into the minds and creativity of some of the most successful idealists and the brands they've crafted and grounded.
Through coaching, training, and development, Erika has left her tracks across the city and abroad from managing Fortune 500 clients under Erika Cain & Co. and producing successful strategic outcomes with PR and advertising firms, as well as corporate and non-profit agencies.
After years of managing and advising company brands, Erika witnessed how businesses were suffering from a lack of character, integrity, and purpose. With the hope of building a culture of gifted and ingenious female leaders, Erika designed a hands-on curriculum to train teen girls on the wisdom and viable structure of entrepreneurship and servant leadership. Erika has worked with hundreds of teen girls and women training them in the ropes of business management, branding, public relations, storytelling, philanthropy, politics, banking, and community leadership.
Erika has consulted with various company brands and engages in keynotes and panels under the umbrella of brand conception, marketing, communications, and advancement. Her experience fulfilling high-level directives, interacting with individuals of all capacities, and ability to produce quality deliverables - with proven results - continue to provide much-needed value and benefit to organizations.
She founded: Erika Cain & Co. – a brand consulting firm; GIRL 24 – a business mentoring initiative; GIRL U - a business training institute; Hey GIRL! Online - a digital publication for teen girls and women; Coffee Table Werks – a collection of brand stories told through the eyes of artists and makers; and "Behind-the-Brand" Podcast - an adventure into the minds and creativity of some of the most successful idealists and founders. Her background in running a business, as well as directing departmental teams and collaboratives has afforded the opportunity to adapt to many challenges “ethically,” both internally and externally.

Wanna refine your image? Here are 3 take-aways from the memorable film “Napoleon Dynamite”:
Wearing snow boots during off-season brings about much attention. Blending in with every other Brand, can be boring. Do something uniquely different to stand out from others. Oftentimes people restrict their image from air supply by tying themselves down to a routine strategy, rather than recognizing cool ways to express their identity and going against the grain. Your image should have a closet full of snow boots to choose from, especially in the heat of the summer.
Sharing sweet dance moves keeps your audience captivated. What makes individuals camp out for the next iPhone, or Star Wars film? The experience of course. People are intrigued when they can share memorable moments of an experience with you. Your Brand should be effective enough to give an encore performance every single time your audience wants to hang around you. They should never expect what’s coming, but know that whatever it is, it will be stellar.
Working on a chicken farm for a dollar an hour can be humbling. Never, ever forget where and how you started. Life can be a day-to-day struggle, with most challenges being unforeseen. As you grow in your purpose, always remember that those around you can be affected by your struggles as a Brand. As the head of your image, you should often experience your own personality to see it from the perspective of your audience. Evaluate your experience in an honest manner, and you be the judge. Is it as spectacular and life-changing as you thought, or does hanging around you feel the same as stuffing thousands of chickens in cages - half their size - in the blistering sun, all to retrieve $8 for a day’s work.
